Mic Baca was born and raised into a mining family in Silverton, Colorado where he was home schooled through highschool. He earned his GED and set his sights on an education at the University of Wyoming, graduating with a degree in Architectural Engineering in May of 2000.

His primary out of work interests include spending time with his 3 children, (7,11,15) and wife of 17 years. Mic enjoys volunteering with local schools and youth organizations to coach kids in the areas of track and field, basketball, softball and football. His passion is teaching underprivileged youth, life skills through sports.

He is also part of the Workforce Development Team at Grand Junction High School. The goal of the team is to share the realities of Structural Engineering with high-school students who have indicated interest in pursuing post graduate careers in Science and Technology,  through in person lectures, hands on activities and experiment simulations.
